Your photos, on your terms
Privacy
Snaply is a camera. Current AI and Pose process the camera frame on your device without reading your photo library.
Photos on your device
- The native camera preview runs only on the camera screen. Pressing the shutter saves an app copy and, with saving permission, adds it to system Photos. iOS requests only permission to add photos.
- Snaply does not read or scan your existing photo library. Face, body-pose, brightness and highlight analysis guides only the current camera frame through offline AI and Pose. Snaply does not identify people by face.
- The app folder keeps one current capture. An unsaved photo survives a restart for retrying or exporting to Files; a delivered copy is only a temporary preview. Preview does not browse, classify or delete previous photos. Uninstalling clears app copies; system Photos manages saved originals.
Optional cloud camera guidance
AI and Pose in the current native camera do not upload frames. The following cloud disclosures apply to older versions offering optional cloud guidance: data flow is explained before first use, it can be disabled in Settings, and only an explicitly requested current frame is sent.
The Snaply backend runs on Cloudflare Workers. It forwards the request to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio Qwen (China service). Alibaba says it stores data generated by model services and application calls in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- The request includes a JPEG resized to at most 1024 pixels on its longest side with EXIF removed, the selected scene, supported camera controls, and on-device brightness, sharpness, face-count, and image-label signals.
- Snaply does not store photos, prompts, or model answers in an application database. The service receives the image temporarily during processing. Network and security logs may contain an IP address, request time, and status; retention depends on the Cloudflare account and logging configuration.
- When you use cloud guidance or subscriptions, Snaply creates a Firebase anonymous user ID. No email, name, or password is required, but this is a cloud identity used to authenticate requests, sync subscription access, and calculate the allowance. The server does not accept a Pro status claimed by the client. The D1 quota database stores only a SHA-256 hash of this ID, the UTC date, reserved request count, and an expiry timestamp: up to 3 attempts per day for free users and 50 for Pro users. Each request is counted before the model call, including failed requests. The Worker has no scheduled cleanup, so expired counter rows can remain in D1.
On-device ML Kit diagnostics
The native iOS camera uses Apple Vision. Android uses Google ML Kit face and body-pose detection. ML Kit collects diagnostic device and app information, installation identifiers, performance metrics, image format and size, feature events and error codes. Pose detection also uses Firebase configuration and installation diagnostics. Google says the listed diagnostic data is sent over HTTPS and not transferred to third parties. Offline AI and Pose do not send frames as Snaply cloud requests.
Subscriptions and anonymous identity
Google Play or Apple processes subscription payments. Snaply and RevenueCat receive store transaction information, product and subscription status needed to verify purchases and access. The Firebase anonymous user ID is used as the subscription lookup identifier; you do not need an email account. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy for its data processing.
Revoking consent, deletion, and contact
The current native camera does not upload guidance frames. Older versions allow cloud guidance to be disabled in Settings. Uninstalling removes app capture copies and local settings, without deleting photos saved to system Photos.
Uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel a subscription or delete the Firebase anonymous identity, store transaction records, or cloud service records. To request deletion of the anonymous identity or related server data, copy the Support ID from Settings and email the address below with your deletion request. Support will use it to locate the request and handle it under applicable legal obligations. Snaply’s application database does not store request photos; quota hashes/counts and technical logs are kept as described above, and purchase records are retained under the store and RevenueCat policies. Alibaba stores data generated by model services and application calls under its policy and applicable laws. Please do not attach original photos to support email.
What Snaply does not do
- Require an email address or name, sell photos, show ads, or build cross-app advertising profiles. Cloud features create a Firebase anonymous identity for quota and subscription checks.
- Identify people by face, read your photo library, or use your camera frames to train a Snaply model.
- Set cookies or load analytics tracking scripts on Snaply’s privacy and support pages.
